Pros

Boss is good. Most co-workers are great. Decent location for the drive. Good intern and co-op program. IT is catching up on IT equipment, finally.

Cons

Much of the HR department is a joke. Moral is low and has been for more than a year. Rumors about reductions continue to abound because there is little to no communication from leadership. Working on pins and needles every day is not healthy. Top leadership is a joke. CEO is non existent and not engaged. While OEM customer groups decline due to cuts, other groups expand.

Pros

Privately owned and was a wonderful place to work for many years. Tremendous talent and opportunity with great pay and benefits.

Cons

During my time of employment I worked under 4 Presidents. Each with a unique skill sets. I left the company for a short time and returned while Yazaki was under the leadership of Bo Andersson. In less than a year the morale dropped tremendously headcount was slashed. Most operated in fear of losing their jobs and the company lost so much talent both voluntarily and involuntarily. All life/work balance was gone and projects costing hundreds of thousands in new office furniture, carpet, cafe continued while countless jobs were lost. Executive management was sliced and individuals were given scopes that included multiple regions resulting in announcements from HR of daily reorganizations and new org charts. HR, Legal, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering and all Business Units became a revolving door of associates. Engagement and retention bottomed out. Then Covid hit and the unprecedented layoffs that happened turned out to be a blessing for those that were cut. Those that remained became even more overworked and unhappy. In summary - Yazaki was and will again become a great place to work now that Mr. Andersson has stepped down. But do your research if you ever apply for a position at a company run by Bo Andersson. With Ryosuke at the helm, I believe the company will thrive once again.

Pros

First works council elected (Cologne). Godspeed to the colleagues! We need you more than ever! This applies also the the newly elected European works council

Cons

- Top Management applying changes according to General Motors role model - you remember General Motors tumbling into bankruptcy? - japanese culture just got lost, it’s a pity!! - heavy restructuring ongoing, social criteria are not being considered - fear, uncertainty and loss of identification with the company are the result - low margin in wiring (commodity) business, if you expect investments in future markets, products, services you are in the wrong company. Cost pressure which is common in automotive sector is in wiring harnesss business existence-threatening.
