Pros

Perhaps the investment on systems and platforms is the only thing i can think of. Pay is regular, transparent and there is ease of process. Travel and stay in fancy places across the world - although employees/consultants are pretty much treated like commodities who need to overwork, so you wont get to truly savour it.

Cons

People - seem great at first - but are unhappy. They are also highly insecure because of ever changing culture and leadership. Leaders and others often engage in petty politics, silo working, gossip, favouritism, information hoarding . No authenticity and walking the talk here. Limitless working hours- You have to be at the beck and call of the members and even the management. Expect emails, messages and calls at all odd hours, even if you are sick. Sadly, due to the inherent insecurity, management encourages this practice. No career planning or development - Forget about long term career planning. People have been in the same roles here for 10/15 years with no increase in concrete skill sets or responsibilities. Pretty much a dead end. Lack of respect- You are treated like a replaceable commodity, not something which is a hallmark of a great organization.

Being able to work with colleagues and members all over the world is one of the many reasons YPO is a great place to work. We will make sure your concerns are heard though.

Pros

Many of the members/clients are super! You can easily be inspired by the members' accomplishments.

Cons

There is a 24/7 communications expectation online and on your cell phone. I averaged 4 hours of sleep a night AND I KNOW I WAS NOT RARE among other management! Instead of living a service leadership mentality, they encourage a "serving" mentality - never felt more like a "lowly waitress" in my life - despite my masters degree and leadership at other organizations around the world. Turn-over for some positions in leadership in commonly annual.

Pros

Increased self awareness and endurance catalyzed by the toxic, toxically positive culture. Met some truly wonderful people through the experience and expanded my perspective of service for the greater.

Cons

A toxic, toxically positive, under-resourced ("head count") culture ill equipped to design and manage a hybrid global workforce to deliver on an impact oriented version of the organization positioned as YPO 3.0.
