Today, the company in India is barely hanging on by a thread. Employees are not happy. There is a lot of control and interference from HQ and even senior management does not have much of a say in what goes on. While everyone is doing their best to hold on. The company does not have an employee first approach and everything is always done from a business point of view. The motivation and moral of the overall teams has dropped drastically and even expecting mothers are not given any considerations for things like work from home. Overall Xiaomi has fallen from its glory days to a place that has become a toxic work environment. Poor quality new hires and a lot of uncertainty & unhappiness.

Finance leadership in India is the worst after the exit of CFO. The department is ruled by favourites of the defacto head. Most of these people have zero technical knowledge, but are surviving only based on stroking egos, diverting blame and claiming credit. The attrition in finance shows clearly where the problem is. Until they fix the rot at the top, they won't be able to retain any top talent.
