      Lack of certainty for future employment makes for a fun-filled day/week/month. Lack of pay increases encourage thrifty spending and creative ways to make dinner from a 4kg bag of potatoes. Lack of training makes you seek out ways to learn on the job; like Wikipedia and YouTube. Lack of career progression and threats of redundancies make you appreciate your job. Enforced leave over the Christmas period means more time with family.

      Talented, hard working professional employees with lots of unique expertise.

      Cons

      Company which treats employees as commodity resources and not long term assets. A strong drive to create a transient base of resources to be used as and when necessary, with minimal talent development - results in deep dissatisfaction and zero loyalty in the talent pool. No employee benefits or perks whatsoever. Mediocre compensation, no incentives and no performance management. No career building opportunities.
