Used to be friendly, collaborative.

Cons

All was well while the ASX was climbing, but now management realises that the entire valuation of WorleyParsons is based on its profit earning potential and the exec management are panicked. Years of high dividends and not investing back into its systems and processes has left it with a major headache. Too immature to succeed in the big league, too expensive to play in the little league.

I was a fully committed WorleyParsons employee, dedicated, and worked 50 plus hours for the delivery of the biggest project they have done. I was one of hundreds on this project that felt the same.

Cons

WorleyParsons treats staff like a recruitment agency, if your not required by a client, then they don't make any money from you, there is no way WorleyParsons will continue paying you, because you become an overhead, which effects there profit bottom line.

Pros

I have seen the rise and fall of this once great company. Originally started with keen values on delivery and quality of work. It once stood as a great monument of what could be achieved by collaboration of a truly global and inspired workforce.

Cons

Sadly through the change in hierarchy, Worley senior management is now populated by accountants and bean counters. Delivery to customers is now a secondary concern. Cost cutting to profit and non profit centers is now the only thing that matters. Survival in these economic times is about reinvention and innovation. Worley is instead following the curve set by other companies rather than learning from their mistakes
