Pros

Unique product from around the world. A fun atmosphere with great customers and co-workers! Generous employee discount. Opportunity for career advancement. Open communication at all levels of the company.

Cons

We need greater quantities of top selling items. Need to update the technology in stores. Wish we could use employee discount for web site purchases.

Pros

*Great customers make for a fun and busy work place--Customers enjoy discovering the store and from my perspective that makes for a wonderful work environment. *The product and discount--always new product and the discount; especially on sale and clearance merchandise means I'm always buying something new. *Entrepreneurial environment--this can be good and bad for employees but this has always been what has kept me engaged. I get to make decisions and effect the stores and company's direction--Not to mention a fun and creative store to merchandise. *Upper management/mentors--Great mentors and developmental (oftentimes tough) feedback but in the end a necessary component to my growth and progress. *Open and direct communication--I believe this is what differentiates the company from many other companies. Upper management is very open, accessible, honest and direct.

Cons

*Entrepreneurial environment--as stated above this can be challenging for many employees as the expectations are high and you need to be comfortable accepting direct feedback, asking questions, finding solutions and taking ownership of your area. *Formal development structure-- there are training and mentorship programs in place but you must actively pursue your development by asking for feedback as well as working on and owning your development. *Challenging turnaround--Although the turnaround is complete for the company many tough decisions were made and now the company has returned to growing the business and bringing these cut items back--a very exciting future.
