Pros

Income-tax free salary, less tension as compared to corporate world, fixed working hours.

Cons

Rules for locally recruited staff not in tune with local employment conditions, working title and required qualifications not in sync with local market, very limited oppotunities for career advancement - change of cadre from 'G' to 'P'.

Pros

Good. Health and pension benefits. Health insurance is covered up to 80 percent however staff also has to pay for it. Retirement be befits are good.

Cons

Promotions are limited. Staff is dissatisfied. For each grade written tests are conducted and papers are corrected with panel members who are not experts in checking papers but they are senior staff members for selection which keeps changing on every selection. Results are not primarily merit based..
