      Pros

      Surrounded by smart people, exposure to international organization atmosphere, way more sufferable than the UN. You learn as much as the amount of effort you put in.

      Cons

      Unpaid, as with most Geneva internships. Still a level of bureaucracy to navigate, and of course there's limitations to what can actually be implemented. Your experience also depends on your team and supervisor.

      Had the opportunity to work with a couple of different projects. Fresh ideas were welcomed. Introduced to various official people working in various departments. Excellent mentors.

      Red tape or excessive bureaucracy.

      Pros

      I worked in a small regional office, as a result I was given more responsibilities than some of the larger offices. Great opportunity to gain valuable skills and for a well recognized organization.

      Cons

      Little opportunity to move up in the organization... actually have a policy that restricts interns from taking on staff positions for up to 6 months after there contract ends Internships are unpaid
