Pros

You join a humanitarian organization with the aim to change something for the better int he world, however...

Cons

however you are trapped in the most possible toxic environment where you have to kiss your boss' a** to collect scores and to satisfy their little hurt ego and insecurities. And if you dare not to press on a heart emoji on your boss' comment in a group chat but by mistake click on the like emoji, you're screwed. You will be immediately placed off the top performers' list, excluded from meetings and important projects and eventually dismissed. This is why hunger is still used as means of war in the 21st century - exactly because of people like this. Shame on you, WFP.

Pros

Technology department was a great place to work. Very inclusive and fun teams with great projects. Very progressive and cutting edge in their approach. Good pay and benefits. Great team, very good talent from all over the world. Excellent senior management.

Cons

Some Programme Policy teams and departments (e.g. Pro-P) have very racist people in their teams. Not sure how these people continue to be allowed to function within the organization.

Pros

Friendly colleagues, some good gems. Salary on average above market rates.

Cons

- Toxic leadership - Career based not on merit - Personnel selection based on nepotism. It took me 4 months to fire a person that did not even turn on his computer - I had a deputy director that forced me to hire a person she wanted and after I raised my concerns I faced mobbing - Toxic environment, if you keep your integrity then you become the problem - on average quality of employees is significantly below average, most people would be unemployed in the private sector - lots of incompetent people doing nothing and protected by leadership cause firing is impossible. Best thing is that when they want to get rid of them usually they promote them.
