Pros

Fast paced work environment which is challenging but exhilarating at the same time. I would recommend it as an employer to anyone with an interest in international development.

Cons

Diverse pool of staff means you need to be very culturally aware in your dealings with people. For example many Muslim women will not shake hands with males who are not related to them and you have to respect that or cause great offense.

Pros

Professional environment with colleagues of high intellectual calibre. High international profile at the heart of international development debates.

Cons

RIgid hierarchy with little encouragement for innovation. Promotion based on years of service + politics, less reflecting skills and talent.
