Pros

Good salary and benefits, a strong focus on knowledge creation, and many learning opportunities. Generous vacation and other benefits.

Cons

It still is a public sector bureaucracy at heart, and thus it's hard to get even simple things accomplished. Promotions are slow, and non-international staff have few opportunities to advance.

Pros

noble mission, challenging and interesting work (help countries develop faster and move out of poverty), international environment (great multi cultureal experience), travel to interesting places, good work-life balance

Cons

There is too much bureaucracy compared to the private sector, and career growth is quite slow especially once you get to mid-level positions.
