Pros

If you’re Indian in India, it’s a terrific place. If you are NOT, expect to be told that you can’t get any support (IT issues especially, but also for things like travel) unless you stay up half the night and get on the phone. Put in a ticket? Better be prepared to put in several for the same issue, as they will likely get ignored. Want to find out simple info like cost centers? Be prepared to be grilled like a ahi steak on the whys. Need to purchase something like a keyboard, don’t bother asking the admin…they aren’t trusted to have a pcard, Wipro prides itself on pushing out learnings about unconscious and conscious bias, but if you look at who is given awards in the company, it’s all about…you guessed it…Indian people. Onboarding is a PAINFUL process from start to finish. Tools are Wipro-created and useless, saving a $, while providing the worst experience for the user, but hey, we SAVED MONEY. Expense filing is a pain and it takes them FOREVER to pay you. Paychecks are wrong and it takes forever to get your money straightened out, forget pay raises. They also take forever, multiple asks, ignoring the problem and reluctant resolution.

Cons

CEO needs to admit that the India-only model is not working. If Wipro wants to be a success, they need to have infrastructure available in all time zones. $4,500 deductible before insurance pays up…it will be 31 Dec again before I see a benefit of being “insured”. Only one health plan and it sucks. Lots of culture…but only for India.

Pros

Pay and benefits were pretty good, that's about it.

Cons

Not the job I thought it was going to be. I originally applied for a Software Engineer role with Wipro, but after the first month into it I was working an IT position. Training was nonexistent, I trained myself and had to learn on the job, which would have been fine if management didn't treat every issue as a high/urgent priority. The hours were terrible, basically I needed to be available anytime day or night. Which meant I had to pay for hotspot and bring my laptop with me in order to go out and enjoy my weekend or weeknights. Even taking PTO was a pain because I had to ensure people could cover for me or it was denied, this was after I told management about planned vacation months in advanced. My team relied on me the entire time working there, and management didn't even give appreciation for all the hard work and long hours. Anytime I had questions, managers would refuse to help and not answer emails, or get angry that I didn't know the answer to my own question. My team would end up asking me questions that I didn't know because they refused to talk to managers because fear of getting reprimanded. The mandatory (and non position relevant) online training was very time consuming and every year you needed to have a certain amount of hours and tests completed, like I was back at school. I never had the time to do the training because I was constantly working.
