It is not a company where employees can grow.No Hike, no good work environments, In development projects you may need to work on even sundays. Somehow the work has to be completed within the cut-off period. Wipro get some projects they are Fixed price and low Priced and they don't know actual effort required to complete it.They just somehow need to finish it within the time line.Where poor employee chap get nothing.
Wipro is a managers world. Employee are like Raw materials or resources.Managers enjoy max, because they know they just have to manage people, prepare some excel sheet, give some advice to emloyee if performance is low, All suffering by employees, Maximum benefit to managers.
In the last recession they were throwing employees as if they were blind, kicking each one without a genuine reason.May be 7-8 thousands were removed. They lost all good resources, my friends(4 -5), and 2 tech leads, whom I know were exceptional good at their fields they Left wipro at the time of recession due to no hike, all worst POLICIES,only managers get benefits.
UCF - A new initiative by wipro encourages people to study more... sometime it is more like dictating people to study areas even if you are not interested. The give a vast set of topics as Unified competency Framework(UCF) as per employees level of experiences and technology. Employees who have to work for all the projects, prepare for these exams and ultimately the employees get nothing as benefit in terms of money,
You will see all old PC's, scrapped chairs, old key boards, mouse who cares no one is least bothered. Then if any one wants a change, they need to raise a request for each, then they will get another renewed version of the old stuff.
Wipro is a company where Techies have not much value.Only advantage is they can get some onsite, that too if you're really good with managers.Suppose you're technical strong 80%,and you are not friendly with manager, the chance of getting an onsite is 0%.
