Pros

Not fussy about dress code. You can come in any decent looking dress in which you are comfy. And that helps a lot if you are to sit in the office and avg 9.5 hrs/week, work or no work. Gives out decent salary for an Indian MNC. Even the below avg or avg performer can manage to stay on once he/she clears the training (Even during recessions they can manage to hang on thanks to some don't-know-how-to-describe policies like work only for half a month for half the salary) There are projects even for those with poor technical knowledge. Also you won't be persecuted for not having enough technical knowledge even in a demanding project. Even though professional etiquette are disregarded widely anyone can be held accountable for their actions. Lots of options for work locations within India. Bottom line an employer where all kinds of employees can co-exist

Cons

Very poor and inefficient utilization of manpower/Human resources. Some stupid policies like mandatory avg 9.5 hrs/week are given more importance whether you do your work or not. Human Resource managers' knowledge about the educational/professional background of a resource who reports to them is pathetic or they don't give much importance to things like this. They very strictly follow a FIRST FIT policy when it comes to allocating resources. Whereas a BEST FIT policy could help a lot in speedy ramp up, little additional trainings, increased output to input in the project and lesser misery to the employee. No professional etiquette followed by a majority of managers. They go even way down to threats during one on one discussions. 95% of tech presentations and knowledge transfer initiative are very mundane and are done just for the sake of doing. The competent guys doing tech work are overworked and grossly underpaid compared to the work managers do. Very less work from home options for non-managers. It is mostly the non-managers who are the disgruntled lot. Appraisals seem like a gimmick and salary hikes for non-managerial jobs are pathetic. Project performance measures are not done properly by the managers and they force their employees to fill in made up data. Maybe the result of too unrealistic performance measurement criteria.
