Pros

So far it seems like a decent place to start straight out of school. I just started and am still scared about a sells job, but i need an income now. If something else comes along, i probably will take it. In the end, times are hard at any job, jobs will be cut, but at least you have a little control over a sales job, continue to sell, and continue to have a job. I might just be lazy or just bought into the middle-class dream, find a job and get paid for doing as little as possible. You can't do that in sells, and I'm scared.

Cons

I seen management push an unwanted product on a customer, and told the rep to basically use the customers child to scare the customer into buying, " but what about the safety of your child". I thought that was distasteful.

Pros

Great benefits and job security. The 'Retain and Retrain' policy is truly believed in from a senior management perspective, and, it's great for the corporate bottom line - if you have a current employee who can do the work and a job that needs doing - why would you lay off a team member? Unfortunately, when it comes to implementation of the policy, HR is far too deep into middle managements pocket - they will do what ever they're told and good, experience people end up on the street.

Cons

As with most corporations - people tend to be promoted to their level of incompetence and then loyalty didctates that they stay where they are.

Pros

Strong bank with strong traditions in lending. Strong name recognition with customers.

Cons

You will not have a life, you will be expexted to sell to friends and family twenty four hours seven days a week. They will change your compinsation plan each year to make it harder for you to earn incentive compensation. Be prepared to cold call and be yelled at by customers and management. If you are not meeting their goals that are set extremily high you will stay late and make outbound calls. Your job will be threatened by putting you on corrective action including being terminated for notmaking sales goals. Plenty of team members will seel inappropreate products to customers including credit products.
