Pros

Great benefits, opportunity for advancement, they value education, and good ethics. Also, management is most often good. Not a bad place to work.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working for Wells Fargo include being the amount of pressure that is placed on you to sell products. Phone Banker hours can be really tough as well, especially if you have a family. With every promotion comes a new schedule.

Pros

*The firm will help you advance in your career if you show proper initiative and are friends with the right people (just plan to leave after you have progressed far enough in your career to land a more respectable position) *The firm encourages community support *If you don't have initiative or talent you can still stay for a very long time; many mediocre employees who don't want to work hard and, essentially, just want a paycheck (a pro if you are mediocre)

Cons

*Terrible pay/total compensation compared to industry standards for similar positions (they even did away with the last bit of somewhat redeeming benefits after the Wells/Wachovia "merger") *Poor communication between senior management and employees *Too much "decision by committee," nothing gets done efficiently or in a timely manner (and sometimes not even thoughtfully) *Essentially, a fund firm with some decent funds that wants to be one of the top asset managers without having many of the proper employee/compensation metrics in place *See Pro #3 above
