Pros

It felt like working for a family company, even though they are not, in the sense everyone knows everyone. including from white collar to blue collar departments. "Everyone" was friendly and helpful, across all departments and businesses. Everyone works well together. When they purchase new equipment, they buy the best to meet the requirements of work it needs to do. Pay was on par or better than the industry standard.

Cons

In the administrative clerical field, there is little room for career growth, unless you want to be a PA or Secretary or go into Marketing. They "hate" change. Most changes are not made for the good of employees. When new paper based procedures are created they are tedious and lengthy and drawn out and not for the better. Get worst each time. The 'Weir' way, as employees call it. They are slow at buying new equipment and only buy it when old equipment is completing falling apart.

Pros

Great benefits....cant think of anything else positive to say.

Cons

Hours change constantly, High turnover with employees, VERY VERY Racist organization against white people. Most terrible excuse for management I have ever witnessed, They Lie, deceive, harass, discriminate, clueless on how to run a business in particular a machine shop, this is what happens when HR will hire unqualified people for management have zero credentials for the position/s. Their idea of management is browbeat work stupid hours, hide their failures and blame employees and in other cases fire people to cover up their inadequacies. HR takes no corrective action regarding management...they can do no wrong. TOXIC culture unlike any I have seen.

Pros

Decent medical and other employee benefits. Dedicated operations team.

Cons

Low compensation. Pitiful bonuses paid...but plenty left to build a new palace of an office. The Human Resources team has implemented a Shared Services concept that has made the HR function abhorrent. As a manager and director, this made my job in Operations extremely difficult. -Terrible response time to any question I had. HR Reps lacked a clear understanding of our business. -Instead of talking to an actual person they push you to call a 1-800 number. -I spent 4-6 hours every payday on the phone trying to figure out why my employees were paid incorrectly. -My 401(k) was screwed up and I was offered no remedy to address the market gains that I lost out on.
