A great place to gain experience

Pros

Wayfair hires a lot of entry level employees, and people tend to bounce around the company. It is a great place to figure out what you are interested in.

Cons

Wayfair is not as great for more experienced professionals (it isn't necessarily bad, though). You won't have as many opportunities to try new things, but you will be allowed to advance pretty rapidly down your current path. The fringe benefits are more geared towards the younger, single crowd.

Pros

As a fast growing online retailer, there are many opportunities for those who join the company, both entry level personnel and experienced hires. Wayfair does a great job allowing existing employees to try working within other functional areas and taking on additional responsibilities. This is all within a consistently open and transparent culture as exemplified by sharing of information, openness to ideas from everyone whether you are a new hire or a manager, and lack of politics. A nice work-life balance and overall a great place to work.

Cons

Pros

Wayfair is truly a meritocracy. When people advance, it is always for very good reason. Strong performers are rewarded with higher compensation, more responsibility, and greater leadership opportunity.

Cons

Starting salaries in the company have historically been below market. Management is now quickly realizing that recruiting the top talent means being at the market rate with other strong companies and is working to ensure solid comp for incoming employees.
