Seem to struggle with identity - want to be a home-spun family business still, but are in reality a huge multi-national corporation. This is not generally a good mix, insiders are favored over outside hires in all practical ways such as promotion or growth, but outsiders typically are paid more. The question often asked inside is "when is enough, enough - how big do we need to be?"
