As an engineer you would not learn much in this company because most of the work is done by in-house spreadsheets. WSP-building structures, NY office, suffers severely from unpleasant work culture. Great work life balance, vacation days are accrued and carry over year to year, plenty of passionate engineers to work with.

Cons

Takes way too long to get anything done or changed as it is very common for employees to be with the company for 20+ years. Salaries below industry average.

Pros

The company has opportunities statewide and worldwide. It is at the forefront of engineering and construction management. One of the original owners was the inventor of the third rail. if you like travel or if you'd like to relocate, this is your company.

Cons

The benefits are not very competitive. Annual sick days and vacation days are very few. There are plenty of company programs and activities for self-improvement. but, if you are in a field office, you have limited access to these programs. A lot of field office people also feel left out out or forgotten.
