Pros

It was one if the best places to work when Dave Favor (RIP) was at the helm. It was a company that truly cared about their employees and was prideful to have tenured employees. 20 years with the company was not unheard of and in fact was common place. An agency that cared about the kids we served. Those days are gone!

Cons

Supervisors, directors and the CEO instilled fear, threats, and disrespect. Constantly reminding their employees of the "at will" clause. Money was more important that quality of service. We were often instructed to see the same client multiple times in the same week to drive up billable hours for reimbursement although the client didn't need the service. Unethical practices!!

Pros

I am not sure any more. If the best thing about working somewhere is that the checks don't bounce, is there anything left?

Cons

What people have said here is true. I took the job because I needed a job. I stayed because I was part of something good. I left because they turned it into a lie.

Pros

I enjoyed working with the kids and staff. I had the opportunity to work in several different positions and Victor was very flexible with allowing me to respond to emergencies in the community as a volunteer firefighter.

Cons

The continued lack of staffing. Expected to work 12-14 hour shifts and not given any opportunities to take rest breaks even though the employee handbook states that non-exempt staff are required to take a 10 minute rest break for every 4 hours worked. Being told that "you are not entitled to any overtime" when taking an RSS position. Even though most of an RSS's time is in direct care of the kids we served. Legal actions were taken and several RSS's in the Redding VTC program was awarded in favor of by the Labor Commissioner. Of course Victor, with their deep pockets, appealed but ended up settling in court to prevent it from going to trial. Everyone's days are numbered and they won't hesitate to fire you. Only to look like fools to the unemployment judge when they can't prove any gross misconduct had happened.

Thank you for your review. While we cannot comment on any legal or unemployment claims, we do want to ensure that all employees are receiving an opportunity to take their rest periods. We encourage any employee who feels they are unable to take a rest period to contact their Executive Director.
