Pros

Overall, the benefits with Verizon are very good. They differ between hourly and management. Hourly has better health/dental benefits, while management gets higher pay in most cases, with a better opportunity for an annual bonus. If you work hard and are flexible, you can get noticed and advance in the company. Verizon also has a very generous education assistance program, with many employees getting their degrees paid 100% by the company, including books.

Cons

It is a large company dealing with the difficult move from a regulated monopoly to a competitive entertainment and broadband provider on the telco side. It takes hits in the press and with friends/neighbors about its customer service, so it can be difficult to keep your pride. But the vast majority of employees are very hard-working, dedicated employees who are very committed to customers.

Pros

The only reason to work for Verizon is the pay. If you produce, Verizon will pay you well. At least they were paying well when I left.

Cons

When I left Verizon, I was doing the work of 3 managers. I was satisfied when I was doing the work of one manager and not satisfied when I was doing the work of 3 managers, so I left.
