Pros

I feel the pay is above average for area, and benefits are great.

Cons

Lack of support and communication from HR. Hard to get days off in emergency situations. Trainings are not always provided in a timely fashion. A lot of us feel like we are in dead end jobs and will be stuck on the phones the rest of our careers if we stay here.

Pros

The job is very stable. Decent compensation. Financially solid.

Cons

Upper management is disconnected with the employees. Much of the strategic decision making is hard to rationalize logically. Not an environment that supports and fosters innovation. Employee morale is pretty low, which is surprising in fact that comp and benefits are very competitive. The old 'Bell' mentality is still deeply rooted in the company culture. Basically you work because it pays the bills and the job market is not very good. If you are technical, forget about career opportunities.

Pros

Exposed to a vast number of products and technologies...as well as the ability to establish relationships with Verizon partners to further that exposure. A great number of opportunities around the country if there are no hiring freezes. . Compensation is fair compared to the rest of the telecom / service provider market

Cons

Very little in the way of new hire training. Lots of job justification amongst management...consistent reorganization and staff reductions. Only two weeks vacation in the first year, and those have to be accrued. Not an environement that foster employeee development. Very political atmosphere as there are a number of employees that have been around for many years and are looking to protect their job security.
