Pros

What you're paid. In the industry compared to other companies, they pay really well, especially for the location. The benefits are great as well. To be honest, I really enjoyed working with the employees who were on the front lines. It's a hard company to get into, so if you're wanting to go into another area, sales may be the best start.

Cons

The management is terrible for the most part. The good managers are grossly outnumbered by the dimwits. The only thing worse than most of the store managers are the district managers.

Pros

Ease of schedule and lack of stress. I was given the opportunity to work from home 2 days a week which was wonderful. The workload was not overly complicated or time consuming. Also, the benefits were very competitive along with an excellent 401k and bonus program.

Cons

No chance for promotion or recognition. The management has been placed in their positions simply because of longevity at a certain position, NOT because of competency. This is frustrating, promotions need to be applied for and are never given. This exposes internal candidates to external competition. Also, the base salaries were not as competitive as other large firms.

Pros

Decent benefits. My group allows working from home. Supportive direct management. Will assist with tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Direct managers have large impact. I am fortunate to work in a group that supports a healthy work/life balance and allows us to work from home occasionally. That can change very quickly between groups under different directors. Company has a hard time "pushing back" on larger customers. Most career opportunties seem to be in DC and NYC/NJ area. Comapny sends out plently of communications, to the point where it just becomes noise. Morale varies, and you must remember this is old MCI/Worldcom.
