Cons

Applied to a SOC lead position at Varonis , fully remote as advertised on the job posting. After going talking to the recruiter for 30 minutes, she does the classic bait and switch and advises that the job is actually onsite and not remote. So I wasted 30 minutes explaining my background and learning about the role just for the recruiter to switch up the expectations at the last second.

Varonis offers competitive pay, and overall, things appear quite favorable on paper. The work-from-home policy and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) are notable perks.

Cons

The problem with the company is that they believe they are the best and only solution to customers' problems. The pricing is so high that prospects don't even negotiate; they simply walk away. Being measured solely on KPIs (new prospect meetings and data risk assessments) with micromanagement is energy-draining. Additionally, their current commission scheme seems designed to minimize payouts on deals.
