Pros

Personal growth can be good if you are very demanding and ready to sacrifice your work-life balance. As there is a huge internal competition coupled with very French-like company politics, you will have to choose the right guy to back up even if it might put your close colleagues in a difficult situation. Cost control is crazy, even for a tier 1 automotive supplier. Paper cups at the coffee machine are frowned upon and the customers, automotive OEMs, are among the most difficult to satisfy. If you are a shark and want to have a quick career progress by playing smart and politics, this might be a good place to work for. On the other hand, comps&bens are high compared to the similar industries benchmark - maybe because the pressure and the exigence level is as high.

Cons

Virtually no real training due to strict cost controls, everything has to be done OJT in an always busy work environment. Huge pressure, OT is the routine and management is defective. Typically you're always the one to blame but your manager will always the one to be praised. Don't count on long vacation or on HR to support your career advancement - everything over there is purely politics. As an engineer who likes creativity or problem solving, you might get frustrated as the company is so directive that there is no place for personal innovation. Just comply with the standards and do what you're told to - it is the best way to keep yourself safe. Every penny will be analyzed there and you will see plenty of young interns working long hours - but even sometimes senior managers cozy and coming back home at 6pm when everybody else is still working.

Pros

Learned more about the automotive production side of business.

Cons

Lack of training at all levels. There is no regard for work life balance. No one blinks a eye to employees working 12-14 hour days, daily. Too many bosses to report to. I had 5 people I reported to and none of them had any idea what direction I was getting from the others.
