VMware has good pay especially for new grads. It is in a promising field virtualisation, cloud computing. And the benefit is good.

Cons

The management is sometimes not good. Some managers are not friendly, put too much pressure and give little real pointers.

- Too much “management” and limited “leadership” - Deficiencies in leadership skill set not even recognized - Lack of internal systems or processes to sustain current business or support growth - Heavy dependence on consultants and contractors rather than securing knowledge and bench strength through VMware employees. - No focus on controlling expenses - Managers and Leaders are unwilling to listen to ideas - Many employees have disengaged and are disenfranchised as the result of poor leadership

excellent reputation but that is dwindling fast. cool history. cool technology. once upon a time attracted some top notch executives. excellent products. that's about it

Multiple layers of useless management. No opportunity for growth with team or outside department. Arrogance when it comes to traction/leverage within the industry.
