Pros

Lots of hard problems to work on, and frighteningly smart people to work with.

Cons

Certain parts of the company (like mine) often get swamped due to having multiple (between 2 and 5) releases in flight at the same time. Since the departure of Diane Greene, the MBAs have taken over. The folks at the bottom of the org chart have very little clue as to what's going on in the minds of the folks at the top of the org chart.

Working with cutting edge technology, on the fore front of virtualisation efforts, great and large projects for customers, all make it worthwhile to work for VMware. Even in this economic climate we can travel to all parts of EMEA for projects.

Cons

Very little strong leadership. HR treats employees like we should be glad to work for VMware. Very bad resource management. A lot of projects and still people have a low billable utilisation. Too many management layers! Benefits are being cut in certain areas and we're told we're lucky to have a job.
