Pros

Great, great technology and pure intellectual horsepower of the senior technical team is incredible. Compensation and work environment is tremendous. Commitment to the community is strong.

Cons

Senior leadership is weak and not focused. VMware could attract and hire the world's best at any position, but largely relies on a tired system of "putting the old band together". The company is not a meritocracy at on the business side. The company pays lip service to culture and courageous conversations, but is weak from the top down.
