      Great company, great challenges

      Pros

      Unity is open, global and connected. Regardless of the department you're part of, you get to learn from all the others. Plenty of interesting challenges to face every day. Flat management structure means anyone enjoys mild freedom to act, and gets to be heard (with pros and cons, admittedly). Good perks, food, and little extras. Generally there's a good culture of keeping people happy beyond the pay (which is alright), and respect for employees' health and everyday needs (at least in Europe…).

      Cons

      As the company gets bigger some of the mission and focus is slowly getting lost. It's standardising on the Silicon Valley philosophy. Aggressive expansion plans damaging everyone involved. Increased focus on immediate raw numbers with little thinking about what they really mean on the long term. Mindless marketing campaigns are slowly ruining the brand image.

It's good to hear that you are learning from others and feel connected globally- we have over 31 offices around the world so it is important we feel like we can collaborate with each other. We have recently expanded beyond games and breaking into other industries including automotive, film, architecture, engineering, construction and more. With that, comes more marketing & growth- but we always want to stay true to our mission to democratize development, solve hard problems, and enable success.

      Pros

      The interview process was very professional, smooth, and welcoming. Overall this company has been absolutely fantastic. The people are awesome to work with. They are friendly, hard working, and motivate you to do your best. The food is great and so is the location being near BART. The pay is great and so is the management.

      Thanks for the review - happy to hear that as an engineer you are loving your work and the people. Regarding structure, we are growing - it's been a focus for us to work closely with the leads and managers to make sure that they have solid org structures.
