      Performative Culture, Great Product

      Pros

      Great perks such as 100% mental health coverage in and out of network, fitness stipend, WFH onboarding stipend, and health benefits. Some of the people are also the most passionate, product-driven, kind individuals I've ever worked with.

      Cons

      Unity talks a big game about how important diversity, equity, and inclusion are to their core values, but is quick to abandon that when it becomes genuinely challenging. I was the only queer POC on my direct team of nearly 10 people and paid significantly less than all my peers at level in the same market. I worked with HR and management for a year to discuss and resolve the inequity and was eventually advised by my direct manager to drop the topic, after receiving a raise that was less than COLA and being told that it was a gesture of how valued I was by the company. Performative DEI is endemic at Unity.
