Hard work is not rewarded

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

Free snacks and free drinks.

Cons

Hard work is not rewarded. Hierarchy. No room for growth. There is no transparency from managers on key decisions that impact you and the team. HR tend to lie. Some people are blamed by managers for expressing their opinions. Managers prefer people who are submissive, not people who can solve problems. Most people think that soft skills are more important than technical skills. So if you find Unity products have a lot of bugs, you should not be surprised. Pros

-Free snacks, food. -Occasional disorganized “ town-hall meetings”

Cons

-Where to start, let’s start with the culture decline. This review title was spot on -Management is untrained, unethical and is out for themselves. Watch your back at all costs. -HR clearly writes reviews on here. There are so many unhealthy and overworked employees. Walking through the halls of the office is similar to a ghost town -Elaborating on the ghost town, it use to be a happy town until HR completly terrified everyone with upper leadership guiding the way -No work-life balance, boundaries are no existent. -Way too many opportunities to access adults beverages and no sensitive to non-drinkers

Unity Response

It’s hard for me to reply to this review and the other reviews you wrote. I can see you are angry and seem to be in pain, which troubles me. From time to time we have employees who find themselves on a team or project that they aren’t happy about. They go to their manager or if their manager is the problem they go to the next level leader, another leader, HR or even our CEO. Unity is a very approachable culture. I’m not sure why you don’t feel you can do that but encourage you to try it. I promise you if you reach out to me or even John, you will be listened to and get an immediate response. The conversation will be confidential. Unity is filled with examples of employees sharing what’s not working as well as what is. They are engaged in making it better. If you join one of our internal Slack channels and in the round tables you would see the tremendous passion from the employees both for our customers but also for our company. Massive passion and pride. It would be great if you can reach out so we can address your situation. Elizabeth Brown--Unity Head of HR

Pros

Startup minded and a hard working environment. Cool new technologies to work on

Cons

Being startup minded comes at a price. Work life balance is a luxury at Unity. You work hard without the reward and you don’t get to play hard. Growing a career is next to impossible. Getting ahead at Unity is all about befriending the right people and playing your cards right.
