Have learned how to use a tow truck, and weld. have to get creative with repairs due to limited access to quality parts and tools.
Cons
Limited tools, limited access to OEMs specs and repair procedures, lacking in training and skills. Very little growth and can definitely lose your mechanical aptitude. Higher pay is not based on knowledge just longevity. You will see that the people that have been there for 20 plus years still do not know alot about the vehicles and in fact know less since they have not grown their skills. Limited working locations. May find your self driving 45 mins to 1 hr to get to work. Can take a toll on work life balance.
