Pros

You are protected by the largest union in the country. Known to be very secure place to work. Once your in the system, you may be set for life. As long as you can keep your head down, go by unnoticed and do the work expected. Keep yourself healthy at all costs.

Cons

Management will treat you like an animal and have no respect for you or your family. The management makes poor decisions and will dig you a hole then demand you get in it and dig yourself back out. They have no common sense and cannot see the hole just keeps gettin deeper!

The benefits and pay are good.

Cons

There is a total lack of respect for the individual. Management's attitude is "If you don't like it--quit!" They OWN you lock, stock, and barrel!! Their rule is..Do Unto Others...Then Walk Away. As for getting time off if needed--forget it! The Postal needs come above All others. A lot of the supervisors have little postal experience, because qualified people do not want to be supervisors. They know that if you accept a supervisor job that you will have to lie to the employees. This is accepted behavior by upper management.

Benefits for now. Who knows how long that will last

Cons

insufficient training for all employees. upper management seems to repeat the same mistakes and never learn what works and does not work for its workforce. Making the same changes that have failed previous years. Getting contractual raises, only to see healthcare costs increase the same amount ..... who's contracting who?
