Pros

You meet nice caring customers from time to time.

Cons

Management is incompetent and they give management positions to the most unprofessional, unqualified individuals. The culture of the post office has really changed over the years for the worse. They are very cliquish, petty and vengeful.

Pros

Good benefits; Good Step Increases in pay; COLAs; the Union added the Pros to the USPS; made good friends

Cons

Hours were all over the place, you could not plan with your family, and expect to make it to the family function on time or sometimes at all. One day you’d work till your evaluation (4pm), and other days you would work till 8-10pm. You never knew what kind of day you’d have until you walked in the door. Management (unless an experienced manager) were unprofessional and bullied their employees into working the hours needed. Management did not encourage a positive working environment, they encouraged fear and anxiety.

Pros

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE ABOUT IT!!

Cons

They mislead about the location. I applied to Gulf Breeze post office. In the interview they did mention split shifts and 6 days a week but only Gulf Breeze . BUT THATS NOT THE ISSUE! After 3 days I was told to do split shifts in Navarre, FL. My home was 6 miles from Gulf Breeze location the one in Navarre was 42 miles one way. They expected me to do split shifts there 4 hrs in the morning then come back 5 hrs later to do another 3 or 4. That's 168 miles a day no compensation for mileage, time on road or wear and tear on vehicle. 168 MILES total for each day. They EXPECTED ME to do it 6 days a week , every week. 0 professionalism by the postmaster of Gulf Breeze. Absolutely mislead and wasted my time and his.
