Pros

Pay is great, and if you're up for it, there's plenty of hours

Cons

ITS SLAVERY!!! They tell you in orientation that there will be mandatory OT and the max they'll ever give you is 10hrs,... LIES! They make you work 12hrs every shift, you wont have a social life at all. The supervisors are condescending and rude! Most of the employees are cool people but the Supervisors and MDO's are the WORST! They give you mandatory OT for no reason either. ANOTHER THING people think coming to the post office means you automatically get these great benefits, NOPE!! You have absolutely no benefits whatsoever until you make regular, and there's no telling when that is since it depends on a ridiculous list/system. Worst job I ever had.

Pros

If you get into a station with a lot of work, you can make a good amount of money. You get to explore parts of your neighborhood/city that you’d never get to see regularly. Been working here for a year and a half and I’ve yet to get sick (i.e. Cold, Flu, or anything you could catch or from from the outdoor elements). Pretty much, all the carriers just never get sick. Awesome if management likes you.

Cons

If you end up making a lot of money in a busy station, you’ll work like a slave. Heat in the Summer and Cold in the Winter. Might take a while to learn what to do as management doesn’t like to inform you of the rules in order to protect yourself. One day off a week and depending on what station you’re in, you might find out the day before or the day of. Sucks if management doesn’t favor you. We work every Sunday and most holidays.

Pros

Decent starting pay for someone that doesn't have any real financial obligations.

Cons

You never know if you'll work 56 hours a week or 20. This is a good job for someone with no real financial obligations.
