Pros

Outside, when it’s a beautiful day, working by yourself, work at your own pace. OT

Cons

Work lots of hours, too late at night for a woman, 9:30pm. Driving these days, too many crazy drivers. Too many people own unleashed dogs, almost attacked two times by pits. Almost, in an accident on the highway coming from merging, because someone wouldn’t get over. Finished my route, and then had to go back out and deliver packages, which I had to use google maps for 30 different packages. Unfamiliar with the area. My route that I was on was in the worst part of KC. Homeless, prostitution, beggars and at least 3 wrecks a day in that area. Absolutely, do not file for your insurance until you know you are going to stay. I had my insurance for1 week and then quit, it was taken out of my check and HR response was “OH well” you still had insurance. Yes, I had insurance but I didn’t receive my cards till after I quit!! So out of $300.00 for that pay period!! Plus, my retire benefits will take 3 months to Refund. I highly recommend NOT working for the Post Office!!

Pros

Started as an RCA 6 years ago. Made regular 3 years ago, currently on a 43J route and my base pay is $60K. Wanted to share if anyone wanted to gage how long it takes to make "X" amount. When I first made regular it was $40K, even with the wage theft I'm still up 20K in a matter of 3 years. Hopefully it still climbs

Cons

Obviously it could've been much more without the wage theft and I have to make sure I do every possible scan Everytime so I can maintain the pay I do have.

Pros

Not as much work as other postal positions

Cons

I’m an MM. When you come in you don’t really know exactly what work you are supposed to do. I e learned over the year MM work is mostly vacuuming and changing belts. They will encourage you to take calls and do reactive maintenance (which I did cause I don’t like to sit around after I finish). What they don’t tell you is this is MPE level work and if you are performing it they have to pay you extra. They cheated me out of money for almost a year before I knew.
