Pros

Get plenty of exercise, lose weight, plenty of work

Cons

Work like a dog, you're just a number, no schedule, always on call, over worked and under paid, can't use the bathroom for 8 hours. Work in severe weather, heat and cold and sun

Pros

Pay is decent for non-degree job

Cons

District bosses you'll never have a contact name or number for that has the power to make your job miserable. No family time. Ever. Basically, on-call everyday with hope of a full time position that may never come. Very large routes with large volume of packages that are often heavy and bulky. Dog bites are to be expected.

Pros

Love independence, working outdoors, customers and coworkers.

Cons

Stupid rules handed down from above that change when it’s beneficial for them. Ex. We’re not supposed to be worked more than 6 days straight until they need you then that rule disappears. When I was hired I was off Sundays and holidays which was important to me. Suddenly with no notice I’m required to work Sundays and holidays with no extra compensation. Seniority means nothing, work record means nothing. You can give your all, cancel appointments, drop everything, miss family functions, work yourself practically to death and a new person in the first 90 days makes same as you and you have to rotate schedule with them. I never had called off sick in 5 years, 1st time-denied because a new person didn’t want to work.
