Pros

Doing the route is fun. Being out of the office is great.

Cons

They only promise a certain amount of hours a week. Other RCAs who are more tenured (and generally the ones doing the schedule) will give themselves and their friends the most hours. Management will review it for “fairness”, but it seems like these RCAs are averaging way more hours than I am. I got stuck on two routes and was never allowed to try any others, I think because the tenured RCAs did not think I moved fast enough (even though I have greatly improved), so I never have been given the opportunity to even pick up more hours. Management is mostly bad. They tend to treat carriers like naughty children, they don’t communicate well with each other, they don’t notify you of schedule changes, they do everything from speak down to you to fight with you if they feel it’s necessary. It’s a politics game, the pay is really too low for what they’re expecting you to do, there isn’t really much fairness and they expect you to kind of give up your autonomy for 20 dollars an hour at 20 hours a week.
