Pros

Good people, atmosphere, and fun job.

Cons

They have you come in for 2.5 hours, give or take, just to go pick up some pallets on a 2 ton, UPS like truck. I was expecting to just deliver a mail route a couple days a week when I signed on as part time. You do do that, but they also have days where they schedule you for pickups. I couldn't stand blowing up a day for 2.5 hours at $19/hr. Another thing that was unexpected was working sundays delivering Amazon packages. I did expect some weekend work, but the Amazon work adds a lot of weekend shifts doing something I was unaware was part of the job. I was scheduled every weekend day for 2 months. It was more weekend work than I wanted during the school year with having kids and all. So, I ended up deciding it will be much more efficient use of my time to go find somewhere to work where I can, for example, get 20 hours in 2 days, instead of in 4 days, give or take. They are understaffed and so also expect a lot of calls to come in and schedule changes. By the way, they made the schedule as late as Wednesday at 5pm for the following week, so you really aren't supposed to plan your next week until after that...which is usually Thursday after work, if you happen to be scheduled for Thursday, to plan your next week. I didn't like that, some might be fine with it, but I have things I need to plan and schedule, and then they are often asking you to change it.

Pros

$19.06, many hours during season(oct-feb in swfl), great coworkers (misery brings people together).

Cons

No fixed schedule- when the slow summer comes and you're only on the schedule for 2 or 3 days a week(making about $600biweekly), they still expect you to be on call- so you cannot do a second job to make up for lost wages. No work and home balance - you have no end time. (RCA)You are required to purchase a vehicle to do the job instead of them providing you with one. Management focuses on the mail and parcels not employee welfare, you will be lied to initially to get a body in the door- trust what you hear from employees not management. Protocol superceeds common sense- you may get in trouble for trying to be efficient. You make regular or get your benefits(401k, tsp, etc) only when someone dies, retires, quits or is fired- anyone in your interview saying different is lying to your face(my 3rd year of waiting).

Pros

None, it isn't what it used to be.

Cons

Outdated vehicles, abusive management, understaffed and increased work load due to covid.
