Pros

- get to work alone, nobody breathing down your neck all day long. -you get to work at your own pace. as long as your getting down within in your evaluated times nobody will ever bother you. - the customers can great.... if you treat them well and go out of your way..within reason that is...they will remember that. - if you stick it out long enough and make it full time... its about one of the best jobs out there to have.. Thats when the good pay, retirement, and super lax schedule kicks in, but you REALLY have to stick it out, and for a VERY long time for that in most cases.

Cons

- most of the vehicle fleet is over 30 years old. LLV/FFV's get VERY hot in the summer with next to no way to cool down. Most carriers refuse to clean their trucks as well which means super thick caked on layers of dust and foul odors all throughout the day. Kudos to the ones who actually make an effort though, and there are some out there. - out of all the companies i've been with, my co workers here have been the absolute worst of them all.. Miserable, lazy, and downright petty. I've worked in plenty of post offices and this seems to be the case at just about all of them. - pay is fairly low compared to whats out there nowadays. If you're in an expensive area to live like i am... the pay is not going to cut it unless you work crazy hours. - You're hired as a 'part time' employee and they expect a full time commitment out of you. - constantly understaffed and never seem to find any people to hire. been here for 5 years and never once in those 5 years have there been a full staff. - no paid benefits until you become a full time employee which can take many years. benefit packages that are offered to part time employees aren't great. - You're expected as a part time employee to work just about every sunday and holiday. that includes all the major ones, and all the federal holidays as well.
