Pros

Benefits, solid pay, some helpful people

Cons

Despite working only 25 days by the time my 90 day review came around, my postmaster tried to hold me to the standards of her previous position, where RCAs were far closer to 70-80 days worked by that time. This has resulted in my being subject to backbreaking expectations and a monumental amount of stress, especially as I was left to try to face the holiday season rush effectively on my own until they finally allowed people to help me because I was "Not meeting expectations."

Pros

Nice coworkers, decent training, warm in building.

Cons

Lies, lies, lies. I was told that I was applying for a full time job, with a usps delivery vehicle. I stopped by the local PO, to learn more one week before my start date, which was two months after I was hired!!! I was told at that time that I would have to supply my own right hand drive vehicle. Those don’t grow on trees folks! They let me use a company vehicle for a month, which is when I learned that I would be working one day a week, with an occasional extra day. I could not spend thousands for a right hand drive car for a, part time job. After training this job pays by the route, not by the hour. Someone sitting in front of a computer screen somewhere, looks at a map and adds miles plus stops and determines the pay rate. This rate has nothing to do with actual conditions, such as weather, population growth, or packages requiring a trip to the door, and/or a signature.

Pros

Great pay, plenty of hours, good benefits, good union, awesome Credit Union.

Cons

Extremely physically taxing. Coworkers are relentless if an individual is not part of "the in crowd"
