Pros

The pros for UPS are limited. In the past years they have gotten better with the changing in attire of being able to wear jeans and the option to have facial hair. However, the only consistent Pro that I have witnessed is the pay seems to be higher than other companies depending on the job task.

Cons

Where do I start with Cons for UPS. While pay is more than other companies, it's still not enough for what you must endure during normal time of the year (peak is even more of a joke since the expectation is to work 14+ hour days even when your job is not involved with the direct operation). Also, while old school mentality of how things are to be done is being pushed out by upper management, there are still those that won't budge with this thought process. It makes it very difficult to have a work life balance when your boss is too rigid in their old school upbringing. And if you have been given the green light to work from home by the company, don't bother trying because your boss will deny it. The expectations of the job simply do not balance with the benefits package.

Pros

Many opportunities in metro areas for promotion within the company. Insurance is good compared to other companies.

Cons

Corporate handcuffs in Sales. Not your typically sales job. Commission structure is very hard to navigate and reach. Management team micromanages. Work life balance is poor. New CEO is changing the culture for the worse. UPS used to be a company to stay loyal to. However, with job cuts they are removing Senior management losing high valued executives who truly care about the Company and their consumers. Customer Service is poor for customers. I would not recommend this company unless you are willing to be overworked, underpaid and under-valued!
