Pros

Good benefits and vacation time. Pension plan is a major benefit as most major companies don't have a pension plan. UPS can be very flexible depending on the type of job you hold with them. Solid job security as long as you are doing your job. UPS does not typically lay off their management staff and has shown loyalty to their management team.

Cons

Challenging workload, overbearing corporate culture. UPS is affected by the current state of the economy. Sometimes the managers at UPS are not always the best because UPS has been the only company they have ever worked for and they don't realize what real life is like outside of UPS.

Pros

There is a good work life balance. Managers understand that people have a life and are not very strict about work hours as long as you get the work done. If you are looking for a job with a steady income - this is one. If you would rather work only between 9 - 5 this is the place. If you're happy with doing what you do and do not want to take more responsibilities - this is the right place.

Cons

At UPS its very laid back when it comes to Information Services. People here are not very smart and those few that are smart are only ones who work, yet get stagnated in the careers. It takes too long to get promoted.

Pros

It is very easy to get promoted if you are competent. Additionally, the pay is fairly competitive with other corporations. For many, the lack of a need for a college degree for some of the upper level supervisor jobs is a plus.

Cons

The work is probably the hardest in the field. There is little recognition unless you actively push yourself forward. Most people see UPS as a dead end in their professional growth.
