      UPS - SHAME BASED MANAGEMENT STYLE

      Pros

      Currently the overall compenstion package is decent. UPS rarely terminates employees so job security is a plus. In this eceonomy I have valued this.

      Cons

      Management is a very "good ol' boys" with promotions and information. You can be the top performer and get minimal recognition - the job is thankless. The sales team works 70+ hours a week as support resources have been all but eliminated. Attainability of sales compensation in my area is only 18% due to the creative pay structure which is inentionally mastered to reduce payout. This is discouraging. Management style is shame based.

      Pros

      The culture within the company is big on ownership and internal promotion, which is how it should be in any large corporation. The benefits are very generous, 401k match is good too. Management is trained on how to handle many situations. There is no limit to sick time off and short term disability is 6 months at 100%. Open door policy is real (not just words on a page).

      Cons

      Pay seems to be below industry rates within IT. Many of the workers within the company are contract, even though they aren't brought on for any specific contract but moreso for employee style work. Changing this over would likely save the company money and greatly improve morale.

      The benefits are good and the employees work as a team...almost family-like.

      Cons

      Low compensation and micro managaing! Literally, some managers sit by the entrance to watch employees, Not a place to work if you have school-age children as there's no worklife balance at UPS throughout the U.S. In order to be considered for a promotion, you must work at least 45+ hours a week. Promotions are limited and some have passed up because an employee "only works 40 hours". There are many who have reached the point where they're "ready for the next level" but have been at that point for years due to the # of people in the pipline,
