Pros

Short shift allows employees to better manage work/life/school balance. School tuition assistance helpful to supplement overall cost. Steady, fast paced work.

Cons

Very skilled and competent employees continue to leave for better jobs. Full time positions are being filled by temporary workers instead of hiring within to reduce cost of paying benefits. Insurance benefits continue to decline with monthly rates and co-pays increasing. Women are routinely passed over for higher positions. Level of communication is less than desirable.

Pros

Great benefits and pay for a part time job.

Cons

Not a lot of opportunities for advancement, and management does a poor job of getting the word out about them.

Pros

The pay is actually competitive when compared to similar companies. Working for this company as a supervisor can help provide experience for careers with other companies and can help with your resume.

Cons

The overall culture at UPS is very negative. Going into work everyday can bring you down emotionally. It appears that every employee with UPS is very dissatisfied with their job there, and they make their feelings known. This makes it tough to stay positive. In addition, the management culture is one that tends to mostly rely on negative feedback. Positive perfromances from employees are rarely acknowldged. UPS is not a company that motivates employee behavior through morale and confidence building. In addition, the seemingly dichotomous environment between management and the labor union make it neary impossible to accomplish the goals management sets forth. Part-time supervisors get stuck in this dichotomy and are held responsible when goals can not be met.
