Pros

The organization has smart, agile staff that know how to make things happen. Good middle management both at HQ and in the Country Offices.

Cons

Sometimes the allowable project range is too broad and they take away time and effort from the core expertise of UNOPS operations.

Pros

Results focussed; variety of work; tangible results; great culture; great management; pseudo business model; invests in your professional development. An agency driven by the head but also with the heart.

Cons

Not politically influential, nor a big-name UN agency (in fact - it gains revenue by performing work for others and they take the majority of the publicity and the credit). Not an agency that publicly advocates for any particular issue (compared with UNICEF, UNHCR).
