Pros

Somewhat relaxed atmosphere, wasn't micromanaged on daily basis, small local offices have a lot of freedom. Very good environment for younger inexperienced workers to get some experience, practice foreign language, learn the culture in another country and find out how corporate world operates.

Cons

Part time workers are not paid so well, expected to work on call, weekends too. There is always chance to be relocated, even to another country if they lack of resources.

Pros

Very multi-cultural work setting and ability to work with people with interesting and varied backgrounds.

Cons

A very hierarchical structure depending on where you work. Working in a country office can allow for more flexibility and responsibility, but working in the HQ or regional offices is more rigid and less flexible.

Pros

Great exposure to new ideas, people, and child protection issues from both field visits and headquarter involvement gives you a chance to see how human rights operates on the ground.

Cons

It is incredibly bureaucratic and often does not value national staff for their expertise, even if staff are as qualified, or even more qualified, than international candidates.
