Employees were passionate about what they did.

Cons

Street and door-to-door fundraising can be difficult and not the most effective way to raise money.

Pros

Reimbursement for expenses incurred while on the job, for example gas mileage, parking. Frequently briefed on events happening around the world.

Cons

Poor training -- I was being "trained" by managers who were still being trained to be managers. Arbitrary rules such as not wearing sunglasses in the hot Miami sun, not jaywalking, not chewing gum, not discussing politics in public. NO job security. It's impossible to control whether people can afford or are willing to give to you. The general public is also very rude! Especially in a city as diverse as Miami where many people are immigrants themselves, convincing people to donate to poor people in foreign countries was not easy (because hello, Miami is full of poverty). High turnover rate. I was told that only 25% of hires make it past the "trial period." Also, very little transparency on where the donated money actually goes. From observing how trainees were often flown in and provided with lodging at the company's expense made you question whether the company was being cost-efficient with the money that was supposed to be going overseas to starving refugees.
