Experience depends on the unit, leadership and project

Pros

Potential assignment to interesting projects, especially in governance, law and poverty reduction. If assigned to a project with confirmed funding, then there could be substantial flexibility in project management.

Cons

Poor leadership, lack of growth for local and international staff. UNDP's mandate and mission is unclear, which leads to confusion among staff. Staff qualifications are not matched with position requirements. Low moral among local staff.
